Okay, I've eliminated some of the choices for the slogan poll. I've only got one vote so far, actually quite sad considering I know I have about four regular readers now. I'm still waiting on Robert to get back, though.
At any rate, here are the remaining slogans.
1. We're Serious About Avril.
2. Did Somebody Say Avril?
3. It's Not All Magic, Magic, Magic, You Know.
4. More Avril Please.
5. The Avril that Refreshes.
6. When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Magic/Avril.
You can vote in this entry or the other--they're both fine.

for fun i checked out your friend robert's journal and realized he's a mage??? what the hell is a mage??? it sounds like dungeon and dragons stuff to me. okay i now realized everyone who is a witch, warlock or mage and is into magic, wicca picca, voodoo, etc. lives in the bible belt... lol. hummm... i wonder why this is, lol???:)
i myself believe in nothing, but to each his own. i was thinking magic all this time as in rabbit out of a hat, lol. i thought it was a bit odd, but hey it's a big world and everyone likes different things. when i was younger i enjoyed all the different path stuff also, but now that i'm old i take very little seriously...life is just too short, unless there is a spell for immortality????:)

J., a mage is another term for witch, sorcerer, et cetera, but is most commonly applied to people who practice high magic. Also, I don't do Wicca. I don't do NeoWicca. Magic isn't always tied into paganism, and in fact there are some people who have declared themselves Christian Witches (which is kinda hokey considering their god doesn't want them to allow witches to live). Actually, magic is not always tied into any religion. You can believe in magic and have no religion at all.
I have never lived in the "Bible belt". When I first started practicing magic, I lived in Charleston, SC, and that is actually a pretty diverse place. When I came here I found that these people have a dry county *in the name of Jesus,* have shot down the lottery several times *in the name of Jesus,* etc. I wouldn't necessarily call this "the Bible belt," but maybe it's one of the beltloops. Either way, like I said before, magic doesn't necessarily have to have anything to do with religion. I'm pagan, but I keep my religion and magic separate.
I like stage magic as well, by the way, and there are actually whole sites and journals dedicated to that, too. :) Not mine, though.
Glad to see I can surprise you. Heh.

PS: Far as I know, there's no spell for immortality, but that would be quite a project, now, wouldn't it?
thanks for the lesson on magic, etc. althoughj i still think a mage sounds like something from dungeons and dragons, lol.:)
the term bible belt is used to refer to the south...which alabama and s. carolina are part of like it or not. i'm exempt as while i'm in floriduh...i'm below gainesville and that's where the south ends. the saying here is the further south you go from gainesville the further north your going, oh and miami is a whole different country, lol!!:) yeah don't get me started on christian nonsense...these people are like domestic terroists as far as i'm concerned. remember the knucklehead judge who fought to keep the ten commandments in the courthouse in alabama and all those wackos outside praying to their god to have it kept? so funny that even their god couldn't stop the statue from being removed, lol!!:) anyway....this is bible belt behavior, lol! that was quite entertaining, wasn't it?
hey side note...i see you obviously have power as you added a comment to my useless rambling journal today. hope you came through the storm okay?? any pics? i've only seen pics on tv from the panhandle and it's not pretty. how bad was it were you are?

J.: It's laughable over here, really. We got a day's worth of a little wind and rain from Ivan, and nothing else. Hell, right now it's gorgeous outside, not even a cloud. Nice breeze, fairly warm temperature. I like it.

that's good.... many aren't so lucky. i feel quite bad for these poor souls. i saw a pic of what used to be a trailer park, but no trailers anymore...nothing left at all, just an empty field. sad very sad. i can't think of much worse than to lose your entire home and all your belongings. anyway... same here quite nice today.

I vote for number 4. Oh, and I did steal the term "mage" from books based on dungeons and dragons. The reason for that is because in that "world" a mage is someone who studies magic for years and thats what I've been doing. And I like the way it sounds.
